Who Is The Father?

When we look at the Trinity we see the persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Who are they and what do they do? First, let’s look at the Father.

Father is the first among equals. In John 14:28 Jesus said, “The Father is greater than I am”.   That means that even though the Son and Holy Spirit are equal to the Father, He is the head or the Leader. Imagine you were doing a class project, and you all voted for someone to be the leader to make it easier to plan and be organized. That person isn’t superior to you, you are equal, but your roles are different.

Father is the creator/planner. In Genesis when it says “And God said, let there be light”, “Let us make humans in our image” it’s God the Father doing the speaking. Galatians 1:4 says “Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.” The Father was the one who made the plan.

The Father is the one we are seeking to get back to. As the creator, the Father relates to His creation like a Father. When we sinned, we were disconnected from Him. So in  John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the FATHER except through me.” Romans 8:15 says, “Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.[fn] Now we call him, “Abba, Father”

Father loved the world. It doesn’t mean Jesus didn’t, but we have to realize it was the Love of the father that cause Jesus to come. - john 3:16 explains GOD so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten son!”

The Father loves you. Many of you don’t have a great relationship with your Dad, Father God can fill that hole.
